What is Northstar?

Northstar is a media player for your own playlists and media sources. It gives you a fast, tidy way to browse and play the live streams, films and series that you already have access to.

Does Northstar include channels, films or content?

Northstar provides no channels, films or content of any kind. You add playlists and sources you are entitled to use. Northstar does not sell, host or recommend any content or content providers.

How does the free trial work?

Sign up with your email address and you get 7 days free, with no card needed. If you subscribe during the trial you keep the remaining trial days.

How much does it cost?

£1.99 per month, £14.99 per year, or £49.99 once for a lifetime licence. Prices include VAT. Every plan covers up to 5 devices.

Which devices can I use?

Android TV, Fire TV, Android phones and tablets, Windows, macOS and Linux, in any mix, up to 5 at a time.

How do I sign in on a TV?

The app shows a QR code and a short code. Scan the QR code with your phone (or go to the link page and type the code), sign in with your email, and approve. You can also sign in with an email code on the TV itself.

I have reached my 5-device limit.

Remove a device you no longer use from your account page, or choose one to remove when you link a new device. The removed device locks the next time it checks in.

What happens when my trial or subscription ends?

The app locks behind a plan screen. Your playlists and settings stay on your device; choose a plan and everything is back.

Does it work offline?

Your device checks your licence regularly and keeps working for up to 7 days if it cannot reach our servers.

How do I cancel?

Open your account, choose "Manage billing" and cancel in the secure billing portal. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Can I get a refund?

See our refund policy. In short: if something is wrong, contact us and we will put it right.
